How to Complete an Item and Write a Reflection
Who this is for: Anyone who has accomplished a goal and wants to mark it done and capture the experience.
Florence, a retired principal, has finished her volunteering at the literacy center and is ready to mark it complete with a meaningful reflection.
Steps
- Open the item you've accomplished.
- Change the status to "Completed." Tap the status field and select Completed.
- Watch the confetti animation. A full-screen celebration plays — this is the moment of acknowledgment.
- Write your reflection (optional but recommended):
- Text: Write freely about the experience.
- Star rating: Tap 1–5 stars to rate the experience.
- Completion date: Defaults to today; change if the completion happened on a different day.
- Photos: Add photos from your device gallery.
- Tap Save. All reflection fields are optional — if you want to skip, tap "Skip" or dismiss the prompt.
- Find your item in the Completed tab. It appears with its reflection preview: star rating, completion date, and a text excerpt.
Expected Outcome
The item is in the Completed tab as a permanent memory. The confetti animation plays at 60fps. The reflection is saved and viewable (and editable) any time you open the completed item.
Notes
- You can edit your reflection at any time by opening the completed item and tapping the edit button on the reflection.
- The Completed tab becomes a personal journal of accomplishments over time — browsing past reflections is a rewarding experience in itself.
- If you accidentally marked an item complete, you can change its status back to "In Progress" or "To Do" from the item detail view.
