Dorothy — Legacy Preserver
Tier: Plus | Platform: iOS (iPhone SE 3rd gen) | Locale: English (en)
Background
Dorothy is in her mid-70s, living in Atlanta. She uses VoiceOver full-time and has her phone set to 200% text scale. She uses Memoryish on the smallest current iPhone — an iPhone SE — which means everything Memoryish does must work at extreme scaling on a small screen. She's been using the app for over a year and produces one PDF memory book per year as a Christmas gift for her family.
Her archive is her legacy: 24 memories spanning civil rights history, her wedding, her children's births, her choir, and her late husband's military service.
Goals
- Preserve family history and civil rights memories for her children and grandchildren
- Produce a beautifully formatted PDF memory book every year as a gift
- Use the app entirely via VoiceOver — no workarounds or alternative flows
How She Uses Memoryish
Dorothy navigates entirely by VoiceOver. She enters memories in short sessions, usually dictating via Siri then reviewing in Memoryish. She uses the PDF export annually: once in November she reviews her archive, adds any missing entries for the year, then exports "The Early Years" and "Building Our Family" as formatted PDFs, prints them, and gives them as Christmas gifts.
She's a power user of the accessibility features — font scale at 200%, all semantic labels announced correctly by VoiceOver, and the PDF's heading structure readable by her screen reader.
Typical Session
Short (15–20 minutes). Deliberate. One or two memories per session, each dictated via Siri and cleaned up in the editor. Annual PDF production takes a full evening.
Tier Rationale
Plus for PDF memory books — that's her primary use case and the reason she subscribed.
