How to Upgrade to Plus

Who this is for: Free users who want cross-device sync, the full practice library, or an ad-free experience.

Marcus has been journaling on his phone for three weeks — 23 entries. He recently picked up a tablet and wants to access his journal entries from both devices without losing anything. The in-app upgrade prompt appeared after his 20th entry. He taps it, sees what he's getting, and completes the purchase.

Steps

1. Open the upgrade prompt or go to Settings. The app offers an upgrade prompt at natural moments — for example, after your 20th journal entry, when you tap a Plus-locked practice, or when you first attempt to sync. You can also go directly to Settings > Subscription > Upgrade to Plus at any time.

2. Review what's included. The upgrade screen shows exactly what Plus provides:

   • Full Practice Library (all guided exercises from all three pillars)
   • Cross-device sync for your journal, mood data, and practice history
   • No ads

   There are no hidden features or upsells at this stage. What you see is what you get.

3. Tap "Subscribe — $3.99/month". The App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) payment sheet appears. On web, a payment flow is presented in-app.

4. Complete payment. Authenticate with your device biometrics or account password as prompted by your store. The transaction is processed by Apple or Google — your payment details are not stored by the app.

5. Wait for activation. After payment confirms, the app receives the subscription signal. This typically takes a few seconds. Force-closing and reopening the app speeds up activation if the Plus features don't appear immediately.

6. Sign in (if you haven't already). Cross-device sync requires an account. If you weren't signed in before upgrading, the app will prompt you to sign in with Google or Apple. This links your subscription to your account and enables sync.

7. Verify sync is working. Open the Journal tab on your second device, sign in with the same account, and confirm your entries appear. Sync usually completes within 30 seconds on a good connection.

Expected Outcome

Plus is active on your account. Your full journal history syncs across all signed-in devices. The full Practice Library is accessible. Banner ads are removed. You can access your journal entries from your phone, tablet, or web browser using the same account.

Notes

• The subscription is managed through your App Store or Google Play account. To cancel, go to your store's subscription settings — not the app.
• Plus is priced at $3.99/month. There is no annual plan currently.
• If you subscribed and Plus didn't activate, tap Settings > Subscription > Restore Purchases. This re-checks your subscription state from the store.
• Your journal entries written before upgrading are preserved and will sync once you sign in. Nothing is lost.
• The free tier remains fully functional for core practices if you later cancel your subscription. Your journal entries stay on your device; sync pauses until you resubscribe.
