Lenora — Food Blogger and Recipe Developer

Background

Lenora is a Black food blogger and recipe developer in her mid-30s who uses Sizzle as her personal recipe database, separate from her blog's CMS. She is methodical about organization but adventurous about ingredients — she will substitute miso paste into a Southern biscuit recipe just to see what happens.

She took a two-month break from Sizzle during a career pivot and was relieved when she returned to find all 143 recipes intact via cloud sync. "That sold me on staying Pro."

How Lenora Uses Sizzle

Lenora has the largest recipe collection in the cast — 143 recipes — organized into four collections: "Blog Published," "In Development," "Inspiration," and "Classics."

Cooking mode is her daily driver. She props her phone or desktop on a stand and follows step-by-step while testing recipes for her blog. The keep-screen-awake feature and large one-step-at-a-time display are essential.

She uses OCR scanning weekly to digitize recipes from vintage cookbooks she finds at estate sales. She exports her recipe data monthly as a backup and for cross-referencing with her blog CMS.

Goals

  • A personal recipe database with rigorous organization
  • Cooking mode that works at arm's length from a prop stand
  • OCR scanning to digitize vintage cookbook recipes
  • Monthly data exports for backup and blog workflow integration
  • Cloud sync as a reliability guarantee after her two-month break taught her its value

Tier and Platform

Lenora uses the Pro tier on Firefox on her desktop. She is an established Pro subscriber who finds OCR, cooking mode, and data export essential to her professional workflow. Her lapse and return validated that cloud sync makes Sizzle worth keeping even through inactive periods.
