Garrett — Long-Haul Trucker (Free → Plus)
Tier: Free → Plus upgrade | Platform: Android | Stage: Active
Background
Garrett is a long-haul truck driver in his early 40s who sleeps in wildly different environments — truck cab sleepers, motel rooms, and his own bed on weekends. Practical and no-nonsense, he downloaded the app because his wife told him he looked "perpetually exhausted." He wants custom routines that work in a truck cab, but the templates don't quite fit.
Goals
- Build a simple "Truck Cab Wind-Down" routine that actually fits his environment
- Log sleep consistently enough to see whether his quality correlates with environment
- Set a 6 AM morning reminder since he wakes early for driving
Upgrade Journey
After two weeks on Free, Garrett taps "Create Custom Routine" on the Routines tab and hits the Plus paywall. The template routines (Wind Down, Quick Relax) don't fit a truck cab — he needs to choose his own specific steps. He subscribes to Plus and builds a 3-step truck-cab routine from the activity library.
Current State (Free Tier)
Garrett has 16 sleep logs over the past two weeks. Quality ranges from 1 (truck cab at a rest stop) to 4 (home bed), averaging 2.5/5. He's on "Quick Relax" as the closest template option, completing it 6 of 14 days. He's bookmarked articles in the Sleep Environment category. His morning reminder is set to 6:00 AM and he taps through to log about half the time.
Tier Rationale
Garrett's upgrade is driven purely by the custom routine builder. His sleep environments are too varied for a one-size template. Once he can customize the steps, the routine becomes genuinely useful rather than just a rough fit.
