How to Log a Lighthouse Visit

Marcus, chasing his goal of 100 visited lighthouses, logged visit #90 and immediately checked his collection stats across three different screens. This guide shows how to log a visit and where to see your progress.

Steps

  1. Find the lighthouse. Navigate to the lighthouse detail screen from the Explore tab, the map, or your bucket list.

  2. Tap "Mark as Visited." A date picker appears, defaulting to today's date.

  3. Confirm or adjust the date. If you are logging a past visit, scroll the date picker to the correct date. Tap Confirm.

  4. The detail screen updates. The "Mark as Visited" button is replaced by a visited checkmark indicator.

Checking Your Updated Stats

After logging a visit:

  • My Visits tab: the lighthouse appears at the top of your visit list (sorted by most recent). The header shows your updated total visits, total countries, and most recent visit date.
  • Explore tab: the lighthouse now shows a visited checkmark in the directory list.
  • Map tab: the lighthouse marker shows a checkmark instead of the default pin.
  • Profile tab: your collection stats update — "X of 500+ visited" with the updated completion percentage.

Deleting a Visit

If you logged a visit incorrectly:

  1. Go to the My Visits tab.
  2. Find the lighthouse (or open its detail screen).
  3. Tap the delete/remove option (three-dot menu or swipe action).
  4. Confirm the deletion.

Visit deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. To re-log the visit, use "Mark as Visited" again with the correct date.

Expected Outcome

The lighthouse appears in My Visits with the correct date. Collection stats update across all tabs. The visited indicator is visible on the Explore tab and map.

Tips

  • You can log visits for lighthouses you visited in the past — just adjust the date picker to the correct date.
  • Subscribers with Advanced Stats (Tier C/D) can see their visit history visualized as a heatmap and track milestone badges (10, 25, 50, 100 lighthouses visited).
