How to Bookmark and Organize Advice
Kwame wants to save a Home/DIY advice post he found useful. He already has 8 bookmarks and two mental categories — "Shop Safety" and "Money Lessons." With named collections, he can organize his saved advice instead of managing it in his head.
Bookmark Advice
- Tap the bookmark icon on any advice card or advice detail screen
- The icon toggles to a filled state — the advice is saved
- Bookmarks work for both anonymous and signed-in users
- Bookmark state is visible on advice cards across Home, Topics, and Advice Detail screens
View Your Bookmarks
- Tap the Saved tab (the bookmark icon in the bottom navigation)
- All bookmarked advice appears sorted by date saved — newest first
- Tap any bookmark to open the full Advice Detail screen
- Tap the bookmark icon again on any saved item to remove it — it disappears from Saved immediately with no confirmation
Organize Bookmarks into Collections (Basic Subscription)
Basic Subscription users can create named collections to organize bookmarked advice by topic or purpose.
Create a collection:
- On the Saved tab, tap New Collection
- Name it (e.g., "US Career Notes," "Finance Basics," "For Maria")
- Tap Create
Add bookmarks to a collection:
- On the Saved tab, long-press any bookmarked item
- Tap Add to Collection
- Select the target collection
Browse by collection:
- On the Saved tab, tap the collection name at the top to switch between collections and your full bookmark list
- Only advice in that collection is shown
Expected Outcome
Bookmarked advice is saved and accessible immediately from the Saved tab, even when offline. With collections, your saved advice is organized by topic or purpose rather than piling up in one undifferentiated list.
Tips
- Bookmarks are stored locally in Drift — they persist offline and across sessions
- Basic Subscription users get their bookmarks synced across devices — bookmarks on your phone appear on your tablet
- Anonymous users can bookmark advice — bookmarks stay local until you create an account
- Derek bookmarked 9 pieces of advice before taking a 2-month break and found all of them intact when he returned — cloud sync for Plus users makes bookmarks a reliable long-term reference
