How to View Your Sleep Trend Charts
Who this is for: Anyone who has been logging sleep for at least a week and wants to see their patterns over time.
Maren, a marathon runner who tracks everything as data, wants to see her 30-day sleep quality trend to check whether her new evening routine is making a measurable difference.
Steps
- Navigate to the Sleep tab using the bottom navigation bar.
- Tap "Trends" or scroll down to the trend charts sub-section. (Trend charts appear after you have at least 3 sleep log entries.)
- Review the three charts:
- Sleep duration line chart — shows how long you slept each night
- Sleep quality line chart — shows your 1–5 quality ratings over time
- Bedtime consistency bar chart — shows how much your bedtime varies day to day
- Switch time ranges. Tap the time range selector to choose 7 days, 14 days, or 30 days. The 7-day view is available to all tiers. The 14-day and 30-day views require a Plus subscription.
- Read your patterns. Look for spikes or dips in quality that correlate with routine completion days. The charts are annotated with data points — tap a point to see the exact value for that night.
Expected Outcome
You can see your sleep duration and quality trends over your selected time range. Patterns that correlate with your routine habits or schedule become visible when you have two or more weeks of data.
Notes
- If you have fewer than 3 data points, the chart shows an empty state with a prompt to log more nights.
- Charts render on-device from your local data — they load in under 2 seconds.
- The 30-day view is a Plus subscription feature. If you see a lock icon on 14-day or 30-day, tap it to see the upgrade options in Settings.
- Weekly summaries (available on the Home tab once per week) provide a narrative version of your trends including average duration, average quality, and one personalized observation.
