How to Add a Memory
Who this is for: Anyone who wants to preserve a photo, moment, or story in their Memory Book.
Tomoko has been caring for her husband as his Alzheimer's progresses. She wants to hold onto the moments that are still there — a photo from a walk they took together, the story of how he laughed that afternoon. The Memory Book is a gentle, living archive for exactly this.
Steps
-
Tap the Memories tab: Find it in the bottom navigation bar. The Memories screen shows your Memory Book timeline, with the most recent memories at the top.
-
Tap Add Memory: The button appears at the top of the Memories screen (or as a floating button). Tap it to open the memory editor.
-
Select a photo: Tap Choose Photo to open your device's photo picker. Select the photo you want to add. The app will request permission to access your photos the first time — grant it to continue.
If you do not want to add a photo, you can create a written-only memory by skipping this step.
-
Write the story: In the text field below the photo, write whatever you want to remember about this moment. This might be a description of what was happening, what you were feeling, something that was said, or anything else that matters to you. There is no required format.
-
Set the date: Tap the date field and choose the date this memory is from. This does not have to be today — you can add memories from any time in the past. The date determines where the memory appears on the timeline.
-
Assign to a collection (optional): Collections let you organize your memories into groups — for example, by person, by time period, or by theme. Tap Collection to choose an existing collection or create a new one. Collections are optional.
-
Tap Save: Your memory is saved to your device and appears on the Memory Book timeline at the date you selected.
Expected Outcome
Your memory appears on the Memories timeline with the photo, written story, and date visible. Tap any memory to view it in full, edit the story, or move it to a different collection.

- You can add as many memories as you like. There is no limit.
- To delete a memory, tap it to open it, then tap the menu icon and choose Delete. Deletions cannot be undone.
