Elena — AC-08

Persona family: The Situational Spiker Tier: Pro Platform: Web — dual-monitor desktop at work Experience stage: Lapsed

Who She Is

Elena is in her early 40s, a meticulous planner who treats the app as part of her professional toolkit. She narrates in measured, analytical sentences — and is quietly relieved when the data makes sense.

She logged twelve episodes across one high-stress quarter, then nothing for about two months. She is the lapsed-return case: someone who lost the thread during a break and needs it picked back up, not a lecture about the gap.

What She Wants

  • Understand her stress-quarter pattern. When her attacks cluster, what triggers them, what actually helps.
  • Pick the thread back up without starting over. A break is a break, not a reset.
  • No guilt-tripping. Tools that scold returning users lose returning users.

How She Uses the App

Elena's twelve episodes span one high-stress quarter. Returning after a rough week, she opened her insights first: her attacks cluster 2–4pm on meeting-heavy days, and the extended exhale is her technique — logged under "what helped" in eight of her twelve episodes.

She exported her episode history to JSON before a therapy appointment — she wanted the trend in the room, not the app. She keeps the tab pinned on her work monitor, and on return there was no re-onboarding: her bookmarked page, a calm sign-in, and everything exactly as she left it.

What She Needs from the App

  • History that survives the gap. Two months away changed nothing server-side; her episodes, reflections, and plan are intact.
  • Return-to-destination. She bookmarked her insights page; signing in landed her there, not on Home.
  • The monthly summary. The month-scale view is how a quarter makes sense again after losing the thread.
  • A real export. JSON with every field, ready to bring to a therapy appointment — on her tier, with no limits.

Design Implications

Elena is the app's answer to churn done humanely: lapsing is normal, returning should be frictionless, and the data waits patiently. Her return path — bookmark, calm sign-in, land on target, everything intact — is the return-to-destination requirement lived end to end. If a break cost her anything, the app would have confirmed her fear that starting over wasn't worth it.
