Use Post-Game Analysis (Pro)
Derek, a competitive player on the Pro tier, uses post-game analysis after nearly every game to find the words he missed and study his tile-placement efficiency. This is a Pro-exclusive feature.
What Post-Game Analysis Shows
After completing a game, analysis breaks down every turn and shows:
- What you played and the points it scored.
- Alternative words you could have played with your tiles at that moment, ranked by points.
- Optimal play marker — turns where you found the best available word get an "Optimal play!" label.
- Efficiency summary — a percentage score showing how close your total was to the theoretical maximum with your tiles (e.g., "215 / 280 possible — 77% efficiency").
- Vocabulary report — unique words you played, and which were from your selected word list.
Running Analysis
- On the Game Over screen, tap Analyze Game.
- A progress indicator shows while the engine recalculates all turns: "Analyzing 23 turns..."
- Analysis typically completes in 5–15 seconds depending on game length.
Reading the Analysis Screen
The screen shows a turn-by-turn list. Each entry displays:
Turn 5: You played "CAT" — 8 pts
Could have played: "CATCH" (18 pts), "CHAT" (14 pts), "ACT" (10 pts)
Turn 12: You played "ZONE" — 26 pts ✓ Optimal play!
Tap any suggested alternative word to see where it would have been placed on the board.
Upgrading to Pro
If you're on Free or Plus, tapping Analyze Game shows the Pro paywall with a preview of your results (blurred). Tap Upgrade to Pro and complete the Play Store subscription to unlock analysis immediately.
Post-game analysis requires a Pro subscription. See Upgrade to Pro for step-by-step instructions.
Tips
- Review analysis for your losses first — those games show your largest improvement opportunities.
- Note the 2–3 high-value words you consistently miss. They often share a pattern (suffix -ING or -ED, common Q-without-U words). Studying them pays off in future games.
- Analysis is saved with each game and accessible again from the History tab any time.
