How to Group Songs into an Album

Kofi manages his music business like a business — he groups beats under client session albums and tracks aggregate completion at a glance. This guide shows how to create an album, add songs to it, and read the aggregate progress view.

Prerequisites

You need a process defined and at least some songs you want to group together. Songs can be added to an album at creation time or grouped afterward.

Steps

Creating the Album

  1. Go to the Tracking tab and tap "Add Item."

  2. Enter an album name — e.g., "Client Sessions Vol. 3."

  3. Select type: Album — this marks the item as an album container.

  4. Assign to a process — select the process you're tracking for this project (e.g., "Beat Production").

  5. Tap Save — the album appears on the Tracking tab.

Adding Songs to the Album

  1. Add each song — tap "Add Item" for each song in the album. When creating each song, you'll see an option to assign it to an album — select your new album.

Alternatively, open an existing song's detail screen and use the "Add to Album" option to group it under an existing album.

  2. View the album — tap the album card on the Tracking tab to open the album view. You'll see:

    • All songs in the album with their individual current stage
    • An aggregate completion percentage (e.g., 50% — 3 of 6 songs completed through all stages)

Filtering

  1. Filter by album — on the Tracking tab, use the filter controls to show only items in a specific album, or only the album's in-progress songs.

Expected Outcome

  • The album view shows all grouped songs with individual stage indicators
  • The aggregate completion percentage updates as songs complete their final stage
  • Filtering by "album" or "active" narrows the Tracking tab to the relevant items

Tips

  • Albums are useful when a group of songs share a single release — you can see at a glance what percentage of the album is through mixing, for example.
  • Each song in an album can move through stages independently. There's no requirement for all songs to be at the same stage.
  • Completing all songs in an album does not automatically complete the album item — mark the album complete manually when the whole project is done.
