How to Upgrade to Plus
Nadine is transcribing her grandmother's notebook and hits the 50-reminder limit. She also finds banner ads disruptive when she's trying to write journal reflections. Plus removes both obstacles — unlimited reminders and no ads — and activates sync so her collection is safe across devices.
What Plus Includes
- Unlimited reminders (removes the 50-item cap)
- Ad removal
- Cloud sync across devices
- All free tier features remain active
When the Upgrade Prompt Appears
- When you try to add a 51st reminder (the Free tier allows up to 50)
- From Profile → Subscription → Upgrade to Plus
- From any "Remove Ads" prompt in the app
Steps
-
Encounter the limit prompt or go to Profile → Subscription and tap "Upgrade to Plus."
-
Review the Plus benefits screen — shows unlimited reminders, ad removal, sync, with monthly and annual pricing.
-
Tap "Upgrade to Plus." If you're using the app anonymously, the app asks you to create an account first (subscription requires an account).
-
Create an account — sign in with Google or a magic link (email). Your anonymous session is upgraded via
linkIdentity(): all 50 existing reminders, journal entries, and notification settings carry over. Nothing is lost. -
Complete the purchase — the Google Play subscription flow launches. Choose monthly or annual.
-
Confirmation — ads disappear immediately. The 50-reminder limit is removed. Sync activates. You can now add the reminder that triggered the upgrade prompt.
Expected Outcome
- Subscription active
- Ads removed from all screens
- 50-reminder limit lifted — you can now add as many reminders as you want
- Sync active — your collection is backed up to the cloud and available on any device where you sign in
Restoring a Purchase
On a new device or after reinstalling, go to Profile → Settings → Restore Purchases to re-validate your subscription.
