How to Change Language, Theme, and Font Size
Who this is for: Anyone who wants to update their display preferences.
Dorothy uses Memoryish at 200% text scale with VoiceOver. She wants to confirm her settings are saved correctly after updating her phone.
Steps
Change Language
- Go to Settings (tap the Profile icon in the bottom nav, then Settings).
- Tap "Language."
- Select your language from the list: English (en), Spanish (es), Hindi (hi), Portuguese (pt), or Japanese (ja).
- The UI switches immediately — all text, labels, and prompts update to the new language. VoiceOver announcements switch language automatically.
Change Theme
- Go to Settings → Appearance (or "Theme").
- Tap "Light" or "Dark." The UI re-renders immediately. No restart required.
Change Font Scale
- Go to Settings → Profile (or "Accessibility").
- Find the Font Scale slider.
- Drag the slider from 1x (default) up to 2x (200%). The preview updates in real time.
- Navigate away. The setting is saved automatically.
Expected Outcome
All three settings persist across navigation and app restarts. Language changes apply to every screen including prompts and VoiceOver announcements. Theme switches apply in real time. Font scale affects all text in the app without truncation at any supported size.
Tips
- Language, theme, and font scale can all be changed independently of each other.
- Font scale stacks with your system text size — if your phone is also at large text, Memoryish respects both.
- You can change these settings as often as you like — there are no restrictions.
